Baccarat is often played in most casinos within a specifically designated area. The main goal of playing baccarat is to bet on the hand, which will value equal or nearest to nine. The baccarat table consists of three betting areas. Two of the betting areas are dealt with a hand each and receive bets more often than not. These are the Bank and the Player. The "Stand-off" on the other hand, is the betting area used if the player believes that the hands of both the Banker and the Player will have equivalent values.

In baccarat, it can also be noted that players do not compete with each other. Their only concern is to place the bet to what hand will give a value nearest to nine. This made baccarat less complicated and increased the overall pace of the game.

The game of baccarat starts with each player placing their bets on the desired betting area. Then, the dealer, who may either be someone from the casino or one of the players, will deal the cards. The Banker and the Player will each receive two cards face-up. If the hand already values eight or nine, no further card will be dealt. Other type of hands will be dealt a third card depending on the rules set-out in the table. These rules are implemented automatically so players of baccarat do not have to worry about it

After the dealing is over, the hand nearest to the number nine shall be declared the winner. All of those that did not bet on the winning hand will have their bets collected by the assigned dealers at the table. Those who won will collect their winning, with some amount equivalent to a specific percentage deducted as a fee collected by the casino.

A possible problem that a new baccarat player may experience is the amount of the minimum betting amount for a regular baccarat table is really high. But this will never stop someone for having a feel of the thrill only baccarat can give its players. A version of baccarat called mini-baccarat will best suit the needs of baccarat enthusiast with only a moderate amount of money to spare.
